Role at The Avenue?

Student Ministry Coordinators

Why are you at The Avenue?

We both felt called to student ministry in high school. As we grew closer to the Lord, He kept reminding us that we were called to something more, and that we were just going through life not living out our callings to work with students. We came to The Avenue with the opportunity to lead the student ministry. We plan to lead students in worship and teaching. We want to help them grow so firm in their faith that they are able to keep going past high school and love the Lord despite what the world wants to attack them with.

How did you meet?

We met at Blue Ridge Christian School. He took me to the fall banquet our junior year.(He was timid and shy then.) We became best friends our senior year. We had several classes together. He actually asked me out five times. I kept telling him that I was going to YWAM in the fall and I didn't want to get in a serious relationship since I would be gone for a while. The Lord did not want me at YWAM, he actually closed that door for me and three other friends. I then had to ask him out on a date, because he had given up on asking. We spent all summer hanging out and on July 1st we officially started a relationship. When he went away to college I was skeptical of how the relationship would work, if it would last. But, I fell in love with him.
